- IBM Power Systems - IBM i (iSeries/AS400) administration (IBMi V6R1, V7.X)
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in OS commands and other system utilities.
- IBM Power Systems Hardware support, Hardware management console (HMC) and LPAR configuration.
- IBM Server firmware support
- Strong knowledge of work management and performance tuning on the IBM i, and troubleshooting skills for data, application/system performance problems by utilizing tools like IBM iDoctor, DBMON Traces and Job watcher.
- Administration of environment components including security controls, TCP/IP, BRMS, Job control, performance and capacity planning, system updates, and license management
- Privileged Access Remediation, Object Level Security, IFS Security, Group Profiles, Authorization Lists, Security System Values
- Knowledge and support on Virtual I/O Server (VIOS), Internal/External (SAN) DASD.
- BRMS (in-depth knowledge) configuration and support, Backup & Restore.
- Operation of tape management solutions, including physical and virtual tape libraries (Data Domain and others)
- Planning/Review and implementation of OS, PTFs and 3rd party software upgrades.
- Data replication (PowerHA, MIMIX, iTera, DataMirror, QEDD and others) support
- Understanding of basic network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, HTTP, FTP.
- Co-ordinate with vendor for troubleshooting as required.
- Knowledge of CL programming, SQL, etc.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
- Excellent troubleshooting capabilities, analytical skills, understanding of IT processes and procedures concepts.
- Ability to work in a teaming environment, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
- Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in ITIL processes.
