Job Summary
A detail-oriented part-qualified accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organisation. The responsibilities include preparing journals entries to support month end close activities, performing account reconciliations, performing intercompany reconciliations, assisting with the performance of SOX control activities, assisting with audit preparations, preparing month-end close procedures, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
The role will have a large focus on intercompany accounting, SOX control activities, transfer pricing, performing account reconciliations, and ad-hoc analysis. The role will need to work closely with multiple stakeholders across the UK and US accounting teams, and work to a tight close timeline.
A successful candidate must combine analytical skills with a working knowledge of accounting principles, and proficiency in Microsoft excel.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
• Preparing schedules for intercompany transactions and month end reporting
• Prepare and post monthly journals for intercompany costs and reclassifications
• Co-ordinate with wider finance team on a regular basis to obtain the required information for a timely month-end close.
• Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts. Prepare monthly GL reconciliations on blackline and contribute in clean-up of balance sheet aged items.
• Assisting with annual audit preparations.
• Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
• Performing other accounting duties.
• Assist with analytical tasks, balance sheet risk reviews, and analytical reviews.
Qualifications, skills and experience
• ACA [or SA equivalent] early/part qualified.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP preferable, experience will be desirable but not necessary.
• Experience of working in an accounting/finance function, preferably for a multinational organisation, with multi-currency experience preferred, or strong desire to learn.
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices.
• Track record of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business, while meeting deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications with strong experience in Excel including VLOOKUP, and pivot tables.
