Job Summary
The Software Sales team is a community of Software specialist sales professionals responsible for the servicing of CDW’s valued existing and prospective customers. We serve to enable our customers to better leverage the vast portfolio of Software technologies on the market supporting our customers business outcomes at the right time.
The Senior Software Consultants primary objectives are:
Proactively work closely with the CDW Sales organisation through multiple approaches to enable and support the engagement with our customers.
Provide specialist Software knowledge, capability and value that provides the right outcome in line with their business objectives whilst also delivering a profitable outcome for CDW.
Drive value add solutions and services via the Software sales process and engagement approach.
Running mature and customer centric sales engagements
Key responsibilities
Act as a virtual team member within your aligned CDW sales teams and take responsibility for increasing their software licensing and solutions and services gross profit.
Work with Account Managers to identify gaps in existing client base spend and proactively call CDW’s customers to generate opportunities and close business.
Identify projects and opportunities to register with vendors.
Provide consultancy advice on all software team supported vendor licensing models.
Generate and close new business opportunities.
Review quotes for cross sell/ upsell and further project/ licensing opportunities.
Accurate pipeline management and forecasting.
Create a plan to maximise business within aligned teams and provide reporting visibility to sales management on progress.
Consulting and assisting Solution Architects on software licensing.
Attend client facing onsite or offsite meetings as and when required.
Perform any other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Previous software licensing sales experience working in a large account reseller (LAR), reseller, distribution or vendor role.
Hold latest software sales and licensing accreditations or achieve within 3 months for Citrix (CCSP), VMware (VSP), Veritas (VSE+), RedHat (RSS) and Microsoft (MLSE, MLSS).
Additional vendor accreditation as required by business.
Experience of vendor audit reviews and Install Base Reports
Strong working knowledge of the following vendors: Citrix, VMware, Adobe, Red Hat, Mimecast and Microsoft
Presenting licensing models and agreement structures to clients face-to-face or remotely
Strong experience with Microsoft Office (intermediate/advanced Excel knowledge an advantage)
Understanding of RFP’s and Tenders process and experience responding and winning tenders
Understanding of Tail-End requirements of clients and delivering cost savings/cost avoidance

Outstanding communications skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present concepts and recommendations in verbal, written, and presentation formats to customers, senior leaders, and cross-functional audiences.
High levels of industry-related knowledge with an insatiable thirst for new information relevant to the market
Prepared for occasional travel between CDW UK & International offices as the role requires whilst maintaining a suitable home life balance
Ability to allocate time to undertake personal development activities such as attending training, achieving certifications, and focusing on soft-skill development – always seeking to personally develop as an individual
