Job Summary
A Monitoring and Events Analyst is responsible for monitoring and analysing alarms and alerts to identify potential issues and take appropriate action. They work with various tools and monitoring systems to ensure that problems are addressed and progress promptly and effectively.
Key responsibilities
Monitor alarms and alerts to identify potential issues
Analyze data to identify patterns and root causes of issues
Take appropriate action to address identified issues, including contacting relevant stakeholders and escalating issues as needed
Ensure that all data is accurate, complete, and up-to-date
Escalate potential service issues with Team Leader/Event Management Delivery Manager /Service Delivery Manager as required
Escalation of potential problem issues with Major Incident Management.
Alarm Ticket Incident Management to closure.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential knowledge in the following areas:
Experience in a similar SLA-driven support role.
Proven Customer service skills.
Desirable knowledge in the following areas:
Experienced in ITIL best practices desirable. Ideally, holding an ITIL. Foundation certification.
Security clearance is advantageous.
Essential Attributes
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Ability to take ownership of and progress incidents to resolution or to identify when escalation is necessary
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work in a team and to support team members
Communication and interpersonal skills include listening, building rapport, and establishing empathy whilst demonstrating awareness of internal and external issues
