Job Summary

Responsible for UK and International indirect tax compliance processes with opportunity to contribute towards advisory or technical projects.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Tax you will be responsible for and take ownership of all indirect tax-related matters across CDW’s UK and International business.

More detailed responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of indirect tax compliance cycle across multiple jurisdictions (key focus being the UK, EMEA, and APAC), where necessary working with external advisors to ensure returns/payments etc are made on an accurate and timely basis;

  • Acting as key point of contact for HMRC and equivalent overseas tax authorities;

  • Preparation of periodic indirect tax financial reporting, cash forecasting and reconciliations;

  • Driving technology improvements to aid automation and compliance, working closely with systems teams to achieve this – including transition to new ERP platform;

  • Keeping up to date with indirect tax case law and legislative change impacting the business;

  • Supporting new market expansion;

  • Providing indirect tax advice to and partnering with commercial teams across the business to assist them in maintaining CDW’s competitive edge in the market – this could include:

  • Advising on tax-efficient structuring of multi-jurisdictional customer deals;

  • Providing valuable input towards CDW’s strategic growth objectives (including post-Brexit business model maturity);

  • Assisting the Head of Tax on any other group tax projects from an indirect tax perspective;

  • Working with and drawing on resource of tax-dedicated colleague based in CDW’s overseas SSC.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • CTA qualified preferable

  • Demonstrable experience of cross-border VAT/GST or equivalent compliance (evidence of advisory experience would be preferred but not essential)

  • Track record of process improvement

  • Experience of working within a large MNC would be beneficial – or ability to demonstrate how you have applied your technical knowledge in a commercially-driven environment

  • Advanced Excel skills
