JOB SUMMARY

As a Technical Pre-Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our sales efforts by providing technical expertise and designing tailored solutions for our customers. In addition to your pre-sales responsibilities, you will also be responsible for implementing the solutions that have been sold in some cases. Your technical acumen and ability to translate customer requirements into effective solutions will be crucial to achieving customer satisfaction and business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Expertise:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our product and service offerings, including hardware, software, and networking solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to effectively advise customers on technical solutions.

Pre-sales Support:

  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and propose appropriate technical solutions.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts (POCs). Solution Design and Architecture:
  • Analyze customer needs and existing IT infrastructure to design customized and scalable solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Create comprehensive solution architectures, diagrams and documentation to illustrate the proposed technical solutions.

Requirement Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of customer requirements, evaluating technical specifications and identifying potential challenges or opportunities.
  • Translate customer needs into technical solution requirements and provide recommendations accordingly. Proposal Development: Collaborate with the sales team to develop comprehensive and compelling proposals that outline the technical aspects of the solution, including architecture, implementation plan and pricing.
  • Ensure proposals align with customer requirements, business objectives and competitive market dynamics.

Technical Consultation:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering expert insights and guidance on technology choices, best practices and industry standards.
  • Provide technical consultation throughout the sales process, addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and objections.

Solution Implementation:

  • Take ownership of the implementation phase for the solutions you have sold, considering the limitations of a small branch office environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers and vendors to plan and execute the implementation, ensuring successful deployment and integration of the solution.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
  • Address technical issues and challenges that arise during implementation, working closely with customers to identify and resolve them promptly.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting to ensure the smooth operation of implemented solutions.

Training and Knowledge Transfer:

  • Conduct training sessions for customers to educate them on using and maintaining the implemented solutions effectively.
  • Transfer knowledge to the customer's IT team, enabling them to independently manage and support the solutions.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, serving as the primary technical point of contact throughout the sales and implementation processes.
  • Engage with customers post-implementation to ensure their ongoing satisfaction, address any concerns and identify opportunities for further collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in technical pre-sales, solution design and implementation within the IT industry.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, architectures, systems and software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to understand customer requirements and design innovative solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with customers.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), etc.) are a plus
