JOB SUMMARY:
At CDW, we make technology work so people can do great things. The Internal Communications Specialist will be charged with helping us capture and share that story with coworkers in the UK and around the world. This role will be responsible for translating business strategies into key messages, telling stories of our people and capabilities, and driving programmes that create excitement, drive engagement, align teams and shape culture. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to execute internal communications plans, strong interpersonal and writing skills, and a natural ability to think strategically while delivering results.  

This role will report to the Corporate Communications Manager as part of the Corporate Communications team, which is responsible for managing internal communications and public relations. As a global business, the Specialist will be responsible for working hand in hand across departments and geographies, with close alignment to the Corporate Communications team in North America.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, edit and write impactful and engaging content that is high quality, accurate, and integrated with business priorities and themes.
  • Relaunch and manage the intranet, ensuring the homepage is up to date, engaging and informative.
  • Manage and disseminate the bi-weekly internal newsletter.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of employee engagement events and activities.
  • Help promote Social Impact and DE&I initiatives in collaboration with the Environmental, Social and Governance team, Business Resource Groups and other departments.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure alignment on messaging, branding, imagery and identify.
  • Support other departments with communications strategies and campaigns.
  • Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly.
  • Regularly evaluate industry trends and benchmarks to drive innovation in how we communicate.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a Corporate Communications role
  • University Degree or professional qualification in a communications-related field

  • Strong understanding of how to tailor messages for different audiences and platforms.

  • Consistently demonstrates strong business acumen and judgement.
  • Continuously bring creativity and confidence to your work.
  • Self starter who is able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Critical attention to detail and ability to multitask in fast-changing environment
  • Experience with metrics, tracking and reporting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, PowerPoint)
