CONFIGURATION TRAINER

ROLE OVERVIEW

 

The configuration trainer will be responsible for training all levels of technician within the CDW configuration centre, in standard Configuration processes, customer specific build processes, industry best practice, and various other types of training to help technicians progress and ensure high standards of quality.  Assisting with inductions, introductions to Citrix and Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) and other CDW working practices and processes. Responsibility for updating required documentation to track training progress.

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

 

  • Conducting basic inductions.  Assisting with more in depth inductions.
  • Completing induction paperwork required under the HASAW 1974
  • Train technicians in the use of Navision / Citrix and Customer Information
  • Assist with pushing out mandatory safety and security briefings and capturing sign off data
  • Conduct Tool Box talks
  • Train engineers in effective troubleshooting and issue resolution
  • Conduct PAT Test training.
  • Train technicians on how to comply with the CDW Way
  • Train technicians in standards of Quality
  • Train technicians on various customer deployments.
  • Assist consultant team with training technicians on new builds.
  • Take a proactive approach towards new technology.
  • Help develop technicians within the dept. using knowledge transfer, training packages and taking a mentor approach to ensure skills gaps are kept to a minimum
  • Continual improvement of self to promote improvement of the departments processes and skill set
  • Identify skills gaps within the team and help to transfer knowledge to fill gaps
  • Identify equipment required to perform relevant tasks, or to improve productivity
  • Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines at all times

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the leadership team.
  • It will be necessary on occasion for this individual to work beyond their regularly scheduled shift
  • Commit to self-improvement and self-learning
  • At times complete tasks normally associated with higher levels of technician to aid co-worker development
  • To demonstrate the values as laid out in the CDW way and to keep updated with the CDW way
  • To always look for improvement ideas to help the productivity and efficiency of the department
  • Demonstrate ability to lift and carry up to 15kg of force frequently (34-67% of the workday) and up to 25kg of force occasionally (0-33% of the workday).  A buddy lift system must be utilized for loads weighing more than 25kg.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform eight or more hours of standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping and carrying products in combination at any given time.
  • At times work in a warehouse environment which includes changes in temperature as weather fluctuates

  • Ability to quickly learn about new technology and keep pace with an ever-changing industry and help communicate to the wider team
  • Ability to show flexibility to help the changing needs of the department
  • Preferred A + / N+ / S+ Certification or an equivalent combination of education and experience with the ability to demonstrate knowledge
  • Preferably working towards or holding relevant certifications such as MTA, MCSA, MCSE, Server +, Network +, Security +, CCNA, CMNA etc….
  • Show a clear path towards obtaining relevant certifications and learn new technology.
  • GCSE in English & Maths
  • Basic warehousing experience would be an advantage
  • Must be calm under pressure
  • Must be a role model to other co workers

 

CUSTOMER FOCUS AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

Each CDW coworker is responsible for maintaining customer focus and conforms to the CDW quality management system.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Periodic reviews of CDW Circle of Service Philosophy and the Quality Policy to understand CDW’s commitment to excellent client service and continual improvement and to conform to these policies and philosophies at all times
  • Report any client problem, or any service outage that may cause potential client problems to your supervisor.
  • Communicate improvement ideas that you have regarding CDW service quality or client satisfaction per established means.
