As a key member of the Payroll and Benefits team, within Finance, this role focuses on providing a professional and first-class administrative service to the business.  This role is responsible for providing comprehensive support within the team to ensure the efficient delivery of total compensation and any adjustments for over 1700 Coworkers. To ensure compliance with current legislation. Managing Coworker benefit schemes to ensure entitlements and obligations are communicated efficiently and comprehensively.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Support the continuous improvement of the Team’s activities
  • Maintain and improve the level of service provided
  • Actively lead and contribute to the successful completion of Projects or improvement plans
  • Accurately input and maintain information held on the In-House Payroll system and Benefits platform..
  • Provide accurate and timely management information and reports.
  • Data Integrity checks and cleansing as required.
  • Manage Payroll system upgrades and changes.
  • Review update and access the payroll processes and controls
  • Efficient and timely collection and preparation of all payroll information each month.
  • Accurately and timely input of monthly payroll.
  • Collaborating with coworker services to ensure all salary changes are accurately processed.
  • Shared responsibility of the Payroll Inbox
  • Supporting the International payroll processing.
  • Provide a professional first point of contact for Coworkers and their line managers to resolve payroll queries.
  • Provide the Payroll and Benefits Manager with support as required.
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation and company obligations.
  • Make third party payments as required including Bacs.
  • Posting of journals.
  • Change- define and action change initiatives that are required either by external drivers (legislative; payroll providers; pension providers) or by internally driven continuous improvement.
  • Key contact with Johnson Fleming and third party benefit providers.


What you need to succeed:


  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processing and good understanding of statutory requirements, deductions and payments
  • Excellent IT skills in all Microsoft Office Systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • CIPP Diploma in Payroll Management required
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office Excel, V-look ups & Pivots
  • Experience of in-house end to end Payroll
  • Month end reporting
  • Basic accounting Knowledge
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal guidance
